He probably is trying to impress you somewhat, but it doesn't neccasarily mean that he's trying to get you to kiss him. He probably feels like he isn't getting enough attention (i'm only saying this if you have other friends). Although there have been cases of friends (guy and girl friends) falling for each other. I think it has to do with that they've known that person a long time and feel very secure around them.

LOL My 3rd best friend is a boy. He always tries to impress us girls, so go along with what he does, and if you like him, then ask him why he does those things and tell him to be honest. If he says that he does to make you wanna kiss him or somethin like that, if you like him ask him out.

he probably likes you, and he's trying to impress you, and do things to make you like him. but don't jump to conclusions too quickly. think about the way he acts when its just you and him, and then think about the way he acts when its a bigger group. look at the differences and see what you think about it.
