What are you smoking? That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. As a South African I can truly say that we are very proud. We do speak of our country with excessive pride, but that surely doesn't make us boastful. South Africans and other Africans do not glorify themselves. We respect ourselves.
Your statement is totally wrong. How can someone be concerned with only the self and then also adore others? You said that people from Southern African countries are selfish and boastful, but also adore white people from Europe and America. These are two totally opposite ideas. Or are you too young to understand the difference? If so, why don't you stop asking questions that make no sense at all.
The people from my country are very inviting and forthcoming. They respect other cultures, but proudly cling to their own.

Here I must agree 100% with my fellow South Africans who have taken the time to respond to your ludicrous question, so I second what they have said.
I see you say "southern" Africa - I guess you do realize that that is an area with 10 countries (if we include the DRC who has been trying to become part of SADC, it is 11) - and it is so diverse in opinions and people and cultures that your whole question is just based in ignorance.
Your avatar on here is that of a female, so if you would be proposing marriage to a woman, I think you can reasonably expect that they will decline you (and I would think not only that you are female but more importantly because you are not the most intelligent specimen there is, and they could do much better)! As to your rather bizarre statement that there is some type of adoration for Europe and America in southern Africa, I can only ask you the same question Porgie asked you: what are you smoking??

Us South Africans are not selfish and boastful! You are stereotyping. Any individual can be selfish it doesn't mean that if one person is selfish that his/her WHOLE country is selfish!
Us South Africans are PROUD and if we want to talk and talk about how we love our country so much then let it be! There is nothing wrong AT ALL with speaking in pride about this wonderful country!! And if boast about South Africa then i don't care because it is about time South Africa started speaking up for themselves instead of just letting people guess and accuse us of rubbish that they know nothing about!
Next time you want to post a question such as this then get your facts straight and learn how to spell!!! Your second question makes no sense at all!

This is what you wrote about yourself:
I'm a 45year old male from Kilimanjaro, Tanzania. My mind is like a garden, something is always being cultivated in there. I'm trying to live my life to the fullest and release all of my God given potential. I like helping people and I try to treat others how I want to be treated. Am a Management Consultant.
First of all your avator is contradicting the above. Secondly a Management Consultant will speak English perfectly well. So who the hell are you?

HUH? Did you learn a new word today?
South Africans are said all over the world to be friendly, GIVING, caring people who love talking about their country.
What's wrong with that?
I didn't even fully understand your question because of your inability to take enough time to type properly - perhaps that's why you find SA people selfish BECAUSE THEY DON'T UNDERSTAND YOU WHEN YOU SPEAK.

There is so many things wrong with your question, I don't even know where to start. Fortunately it can be summed up as: you are so full of crap, and your absurd question does not even deserve this attention. Stop making incorrect stereotype statements.
Proudly South African!
