Actually, there are billions of stars in our own galaxy, and there are billions of galaxies. That makes, well, a lot of stars, namely a billion or so times a billion or so, which is 1 followed by around 18 zeros.

That in no way settles your questions, of course! But it makes it more probable than if there were only a billion stars (1 followed by 9 zeros).

My guess is "yes," and not only that, they may even look kind of like us, because of convergent evolution. For example, in Australia when a marsupial kangaroo-relative moved into a niche requiring that it quietly chase down and kill prey, it ended up evolving to look spookily like a cat, even though it is in no way related to a cat. Aliens who become intelligent may end up with two arms, for example, two eyes for stereo, stand upright, have five fingers per hand (e.g., there is a theory that the optimal number of fingers on a hand is five), and many other things along these "engineering principles" line.

There isn't an answer to that question yet. The only thing we can definitively say, is that according to what we know about the universe, there is the possibility of another earth like ours existing.

The drake equation is often used to determine this. However, there are variables in the drake equation that we simply have no way of determining. Any probability derived from the drake equation is only a guess. There's no evidence supporting the likelihood of one guess over another.

The universe is a pretty big place. If it is only us that live in universe, then it is a waste of space and resource. Therefore there must exist some life similar to or different from us in the universe.

sure why not, we have people on this planet that look similar, so why wouldn't we have another planet or several planets out there somewhere that are similar to ours?
