If this has been a sudden change, then maybe she's teething. When babies' gums hurt, they often don't want to eat much.
It's also possible that the amount of solids she was taking was too much for her, and now she's ready to slow down a bit.
One more idea... it's a little early, but maybe she's ready to start trying to feed herself. Let her help you hold the spoon, or let her try to pick up some Cheerios off her high chair tray. She will probably make a huge mess or be completely unsuccessful at first, but it's worth a shot.
Whatever the case, just follow her lead. As long as she's getting plenty of formula or breastmilk, then all you can do is offer the solids and let her decide how much she wants. If this goes on for a while, and you're still concerned, check with your baby's doctor.

She could be teething. Does she have any of those yet? hmm sometimes children go through growth spurts where they eat too little or too much because they are growing. Or it could be her teeth are bothering her. ( I have two children and have been through that!) Maybe you've started her on fruits which she could be getting too use to and not wanting the other stuff. If shes having at least 5 wet diapers and a dirty one a day I wouldnt be too conserned but if it gets to where she isnt going I'd contact her pediatician asap.

i would check for hand, foot and mouth disease or thrush. both cause discomfort in the mouth and may lead to a refusal to eat. you may try just breast milk or formula and rice cereal made thin like watery and see if she takes it, it isn't acidic so if the problem is mouth soreness she should be able to eat it, it could also be because of teething. she should be ok though, technically babies can go until 1 year on breast milk or formula alone and be fine.

I have an almost 5 month old and every once and awhile he will do the same thing. My Ped said to start him at 4 months as well. He also said that if he starts to not want it just keep trying and eventually he will start to eat it again. Just keep at it. Soon as you know it that is all she'll be eating and then she won't stop! =)

Keep trying, she's getting to the age that she thinks she's too busy to sit still and eat. Sometimes you can replace a bottle of milk for meal time and she may eat more for you that way...that is my recommendation, but of course what ever you doc wants you to do!

She's not hungry. Watch how many bottles she has between each meal. She may be bored with her food. Give her some food with a different type of texture. How about some cheerios on her tray while you feed her.

Sometimes babies put themselves on diets, it seems to come naturally for them. (unlike some of us). I would not be concerned as long as she continues on her regular formula/breast routine. Even if it is the routine she was on before going to solids. Try to give her solids everyother day, when she is ready again she'll eat. And it may be comforting to ask your pediatrician.

Does she drink milk first before you offer her solid food now....or any changes? You should have the doctor examine her. Maybe there's something sore in her mouth.

she is probably bored with the shoveling. She should be old enough to sit up in a high chair now. Try giving her a teething biscut or zieback toast.. then when she is not paying attention.. shovel, shovel, shovel. or give her a spoon or something to hold in her hands to distract her.. Good luck.. she sounds like a smart little cookie!
