I liked the original animated version of it. Then again I was young when that came out so I think it captivated me more. I really didn't mind the live action version, Disney toned down several of the religious over-tones the original and the book had.

I have mixed feelings about the Movie - I did think the animals were very well done, and the kid actors are ok.
But C.S. Lewis great series of books are definitely aimed at children. Even though its an allegory, the story is somewhat simplistic, so its hard to have a huge amount of depth, which I suppose made it difficult for the screenplay.
I knew going in that this was not the same complex story that Tolkein told in Lord of the Rings - but I think that children enjoyed the movie. Of course, Hollywood would have trouble really touching on the Christian elements of the movie, so that also created problems.
Overall, I liked the movie, but its not an all time favorite for me.

Actually, I quite satisfied with the Disney motion picture of The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe.. the casts are great, esp. Georgie Henley, who played Lucy's character.. she is my fave, lol.. and in my opinion, the portrayal is somewhat faithful with the book.. so I can't complain about that!! :) I wonder which part of the movie that makes you feel disappointed..

I though the acting and the casting was pretty good.
The script was awsome.
The visual effects could be better.

Hope the next one will be even better than this one .;)
