Also, if an ink pad does dry out, can anything be done to freshen it back up? Can water be added to it? Or will it never be the same again?

Would being in the blister pack extend the life of an inkpad, as opposed to just being exposed to the open air? So I guess my question really is how long is the shelf life of an ink pad kept in a blister pack?

One way to extend the life of your ink pad is to store the ink pad upside down with the cover on of course.

You can extend the life of the inkpad by keeping it in a zip lock bag. Inks are available to refresh the pad. The inks come in a container that resembles a roll on deodorant bottle. You squeeze the bottle until the ink comes to the top, then smear it across the top of your pad. Most large craft stores carry these inks. A.C. Moores and Michaels are two.P.S. Other types of inks are also available.

I have an ink pad that has lasted for years and I have not had to do anything to it to keep it refreshed. I guess it just depends on the brand that you buy.
