911 Question: How many eye-witnesses have publicly confirmed or denied the official story?

Just watched “Loose Change” and read some of the counter arguments. I have no strong opinion either way - no time to study the details. But it seem like some of the claims would be easy to either confirm or refute. If Flight 93 really landed in Cleveland, then a bunch of workers or spectators should be able to confirm this. If it really crashed in Pennsylvania, then some people should have witnessed that. And if a plane (or a missile) hit the Pentagon, then lots of people should have seen the details. And finally, some reports say that the planes hitting the WTC were not actually passenger planes (no windows, etc). But wouldn’t people at the top of nearby sky scrapers have been close enough to see details? (I don’t know NY very well…perhaps there were no nearby sky scrapers?) Anyway, I’m wondering who here can offer their own eye witness accounts, or suggest a website that lists eye-witness accounts either confirming or contradicting the official story?

Just to clarify a couple of points: I think the conspiracy theories are highly unlikely. The evidence seems interesting at first glance, but does not hold up to close scrutiny. Still, I am puzzled about a few things. How could anyone even seriously consider hitting the pentagon with a missile in broad daylight, then claiming it was a plane? It seems absurd because there would be so many eye witnesses that such a deception just could not be sustained for long. It should be easy to find plenty of eye witnesses substantiating either the government's story or the conspiracy claim. But so far I've only heard one eye witness report - it was DCGirl right here on Yahoo answers. She said she clearly saw that it was a plane hitting the pentagon. I'm sure there must be hundreds more like her. Where are these accounts? I'm sure the area must have been crawling with reporters interviewing eye witnesses. Where are these interviews? They should be easy to find, so where are they?

A few last words: Some people misunderstood my position, and my question. I do NOT buy the conspiracy, but some evidence is puzzling. I DO believe that planes hit the WTC, but my point is that the eye witnesses were all looking UP at the planes, which leaves some room for doubt about exactly what sort of planes they were. My point is this: If there were no buildings tall enough and near enough to view the planes at eye-level (see the airline logo, windows, etc) then the conspiracy theorists will continue to exploit this fact. I’m more puzzled about the pentagon. It seems to me that (in light of the claims of a missile) there should be 100s of people stepping forward to say “Yes, I personally saw that it was a commercial aircraft that hit the pentagon” and go on to give details. So far I’ve only heard one first-hand account. If people really want to squash the conspiracy theories, 100s of people could step forward to tell their eye-witness stories. Why don’t they?

I’m going to pick zippychippy for best answer because this is very close to the sort of thing I’m looking for. I wish he had been near the pentagon rather than the WTC because the pentagon case is more puzzling for me. People should be saying this exact same thing about what happened there. Also, I know that conspiracy theorists won’t be much impressed by zippy’s account because he doesn’t give any more details. Where was he? What visual details can he describe that confirms it was a commercial aircraft rather than a some other sort of aircraft? Personally I don’t doubt his belief, but the lack of details will continue to sustain the conspiracy theories. I’m also guessing that if I put more time into the search, I could probably dig up more eye-witness accounts, but why should I have to do so much digging? I can’t believe this work has not already been done, and is easily available - like on a website somewhere, but no one is making it easy.

I am an eye witness to the events of 9/11 in NYC and I saw with my OWN EYES (not on television) that it was a passenger jet that crashed into the south tower. I think about about a thousand other people saw the same thing.

There were no terrorists..

A building actually recorded the impact by the pentagon.
" Somehow " the video dissapeared.. of course it did.. they took it away.

Have you ever seen a plane crashing on the ground ? How ****** up the ground is ?
How much debris there are .. and so on.
At the pentagon.. it was a small damage.. the grass was barely harmed. Bush could have played golf on there.
Where was the shockwave ? No cars were moved on the streets..
A guy said he heard an engine .. that sounded more like a Jet.
It was possibly this thing called " Hawk " hitting the pentagon.

A plane.. the wings.. they are really long..
Where was the damage on the building of the wings.. ?
The gear that was found was about as big of a car.. and so on.
About the WTC. I've seen so many plane crashes on buildings.. way smaller and weaker buildings. They never crashed.
On one of the planes was a Fuse Lage.
Explosions were in the Tower so you can pretty much imagine there were bombs planted.
Another thing is that on one of the videos you see a black thing falling out of the building.. then it explodes outside.
What else but a bomb could that be ?
The other buildings.. they crashed like a professional blow up of buildings.. as well there were explosions to see.
The videos with Osama Bin Laden are fakes..
Have you seen the things on the dollar bills.. that if you fold them in a specific way you can see the Pentagon and WTC towers ? Burning and so on ?.. You could also google this.
Nothing can be done perfect .. nothing.. not even such a thing.

For starters, stay of the far left, hate America websites. Now I actually tuned in just in time to see the second plane hit the second tower. Just watch some news coverage, from all the networks. CNN, FOX, MSNBC, CBS etc... you can plainly tell that that the second plane is a passenger plane. If I'm not mistaken there are only 2 shots of the first plane hitting the first building. One was a video for firefighters training, and the other was from a french cameraman, I don't know what he was shooting. As for the Pentagon, the news channels would be talking to people on their cell phones on the air. And there were actually people stuck in traffic that morning that watched the whole thing unfold. Multiple accounts that it was a plane. As for United flight 93 there were just a couple of eyewitnesses, I believe on was a farmer who was out working. But with that flight you have to remember that it was in the middle of nowhere. It was in Shanksville, Pa. Ever heard of it. Me neither till 9-11.
All I can tell you is that I've been around quite awhile and there are always nutjobs that won't buy anything that the govt is selling. And on some stories I won't either. But just by watching 9-11 coverage for days on end when it happened, (staying up all night to watch it too.) I can only believe that that govt is telling the truth about the events of 9-11.
Now that being said, I do question did the govt suspect that we would be the target of a terrorist attack. I think yes they did suspect it. After all just look at all the attacks that happened during the 1990's. And our govt never did anything about it. It's just common sense that a bully will keep hitting you until you finally hit him back. During the 90's we never hit them back. There was the first WTC attacks in 1993. The movie "Black Hawk Down" based on attacks. There are many more, all by Bin Laden.
But hey don't take my word for it. Do your own research. But do it at the library or at reputable websites. Remember that you can't believe everything you see on the net. That is exactly why I say don't take my word for it.
Also, Popular Mechanics has a new book just out debunking all the conspiracy idiots. Maybe check into that.

Hind sight is 20/20. Even those that witnessed it have now looked back and either strengthened or changed their opinions. As stated in the previous comments, the Flight data records back it up as do the phone calls to both loved ones and 911 operators. I too was watching the news that morning and watched it happen live. It was stunning and horrific. It is something that will be etched on my mind until the day I die and I am not sure I would want to forget. The "conspiracies" I have read about have been about the facts leading up to the attack, not the attack itself. In the five years since, a lot of people have had time to change there minds or think back to other incidents that happened before Tuesday Sept. 11, 2001 and believe that there is some vast conspiracy that was hatched and actually rehearsed beforehand. I guess you would have to do serious research of your own and have access to billions of records and pieces of data if you wanted to know 100% either way. There is plenty of video footage to know that real planes were involved and that real people were on them.. In fact earlier tonight I watched several videos on the web that were from people in other buildings that began video taping after the first plane hit. And besides, if you ever see the footage of those terrified people covered in dirt and grime, crying and running for their lives you would not be able to doubt the basic facts.

There have been many that heard the explosions. There have been enough discrepencies (even if you don't think the planes were faked or missiles were used) in the official stories (including a new book by the 9/11 Commission head that said they were just a farce) to warrant investigating every lead until the facts add up properly. There are many problems, though, including not knowing (if it was made to happen on purpose (MHOP)), what the conspirators goal really is. If it is just to control the Middle East, then it's a miserable failure, and we should expect consequences like expanded war powers or nuclear ambitions. If they did it merely to steal gold, what is the next step, and where did the gold go? It is already too late to really use the information from 9/11 to any good effect, since that would have required much faster action than a commision in order to stop the war in Afghanistan or Iraq. We can say that if it was a conspiracy by the administration, then, well...."Mission Accomplished".
Otherwise, there is a slippery slope down which you don't want to go which involves very old plans, hidden technologies, energy prices, and even 'aliens' if you go too far...

I agree with Bobby D....it amazes me the kind of crap some morons will believe. A missile hit the Pentagon???? What the hell do you think happened to Flight 77 that hit the Pentagon? Do you think the families of those brave souls in that plane are putting on an act? And there ARE eyewitness accounts of the plane crash in Pennsylvania....you guys are dumb asses! I hate to sound so rude, but what WONT you guys believe? What, do you think a prehistoric bird with bombs strapped to it hit the WTC? Maybe Bush conspired with the alien generals at Area 51 to take out the WTC so that he could justify a war for oil in Iraq? Sometimes I'm jealous of you people...it must be nice to live in a fantasy land where any conspiracy theory is possible, my common sense mind however deals with facts....but I doubt that if a plane FULL of facts flew into you, that you could recognize it. The history of mankind has always been littered with fools, I guess this generation is no exception....unbelievable.

I think only a few caught the first plane, many caught the second. A farmer was witness to the flight 93 just before it crashed. The WTC were the tallest building in NY. They were above everyone else. You will save yourself a lot of headaches, just know that it was real. no foolin. They had fighters scrambled from Langley, but they didn't get there in time. The Airliners were flying at a very high rate of speed for maximum impact.

It's really sad that you no longer see footage of the planes hitting the towers, because that is what it's all about. Showing only the burning towers changes the rhetoric of the whole event from terrorist attack to "tragedy" (which is something unfortunate that merely happens). Because we're not "allowed" to see the footage without buying DVDs of it, we get all these stupid conspiracy theories flying around that just aren't true and they stem from ignorance. CBS, CNN, and a multitude of other networks have commemorative DVDs. I know the CBS one has footage of BOTH planes hitting the towers, even the first plane. I had never seen that footage before the day I saw it in my class in college last semester. Rent one of those DVDs and decide for yourself.

i actually saw the second plane hit live. what about all of those people on those planes and their loved ones, do they really have to come out an speak about their loss for you to believe?

I have done some research and watched shows regarding the WTC and Pentagon and have seen people who say they were eyewitnesses to them.

I cant imagine trying to say that all of these people died for nothing? why are people trying to "crap" on their graves.

It is very sad and I hope none of the consipracy theorists ever have to deal with a loved one lost in a terrorist attack.
