Great question - I really had to do some searching to find the answer...
According to everything I have read, there is no standard drug test currently able to detect the use of poppers or any other chemical inhalant. It is possible that sophisticated specialized testing would be able to detect such use, but such a test would be expensive and unlikely unless there were a specific reason they were looking for inhalant use.
For those unlearned people that care to know: "Poppers" is the popular name for various alkyl nitrites, including isobutyl nitrite, butyl nitrite, and amyl nitrite. The two main containers that alkyl nitrites are distributed in are small glass vials/bottles, or small glass ampules which are 'popped' or 'snapped' in order to release the vapors. Thus the name poppers. They are slow sometimes , but less commonly refers to as snappers.
Poppers are used by sniffing the vapors. The effects are felt within a few seconds and last for 1-2 minutes. Poppers cause muscles around blood vessels to relax, making your heart speed up to pump more blood. Oxygen-rich blood reaching the brain produces a "rush" sensation. Because poppers cause muscles in the anus and vagina to relax, they are often used during sex.

Damn! That's a good question. I think rp_iowa did one heck of a job answering it. .....Here in Illinois, poppers were real popular in the gay nightclubs in the early 80's. It was called "rush" and was sold in very small bottles as VCR head cleaning fluid.....I never tried it, too big a chicken, but I'm happy now that I was.
