Why is the population growth in poorer countries higher?

I'm guessing it has to do with education, money, and lack of protection. The poorer countries obviously do not have as much money to put into education, which could possibly teach about sexual education. Also, it is not so easy to get a hold of forms of birth control since they may live in a rural area, and it costs money which they cannot afford.

Because they don't have the access or funds to obtain birth control as we do. We offer free birth control here and they even do in some African countries. In some African countries it is believed that if a man is has the AIDS virus, sleeping with a virgin will cure him. That is why many of the people there are HIV positive and the girls get pregnant of course and then there is your answer. But, in general, in poorer nations (not just Africa) the main reason for the large population is the fact that they don't have access to proper birth control and they just aren't educated enough on this matter.

how do you judge a countries wealth? is it by its cultural heritage? its people. or just on the per capita income? maybe the answer is simple economics. if you have 75k income for one person. you are doing ok. if you try to support 5 children and a spouse on the same amount of money you are dirt poor. america has a zero population growth. meaning that people are having fewer children. so the birth rate is starting to match the death rate. because we are industrialized. and most working class people live in a double income home. meaning both spouses work to support the family. it makes it harder to have children. so people learn right away to practice contraception. maybe in other countries in the world contraception isnt as readily available. or their religion might forbid the use of contraception. or if they live in an agricultural society rather than an industrial society they might prefer to have more children, so that they can help with the work. either way we are out numbered. and the earths human population is out of control. check out the link below for more info.

Some countries don't have condoms and things that keeps them from getting pregnant. Some might not even know such at thing exists.
Another reason is that they make a lot of kids.. so when the parents are older the kids can take care of them.
One or two kids couldn't earn much money and take care of the parents when they are older.. so they make more kids. The bad thing about is how to feed them through life until they can be doing things for theirselves but yeah..

The same reason why the population growth is higher in poor communities throughout ANY country, including America...because with lack-or or little education, or especially mis-education there is less knowledge...Also another reason is because people have less money to do, and what's better when the moneys tight? Beer and sex.

People with less education and who live in poorer conditions have more children because of ignorance, lack of birth control, and a high mortality rate. People tend to have more children in poorer countries because disease and malnutrition cause their offspring to die more easily. As people become more educated and more affluent their need for pro-creation is lessened. They can depend on themselves for wealth. They do not need children to provide for them in their golden years. Also, they enjoy more intellectual pursuits rather than in the more base pleasures of life. Meaning, poor people have sex because they do not have anything else better to do. I know that sounds crude but it is a basic truth.

Same reason why it is here among the poor...especially those on welfare. First of all, many are unemployed so they have little to do and are more likely to spend time with the family...that turns into more sex. They are poor so they don't have birth control of any kind...that includes condoms, pills, etc. Also, if it gets cold, they can only warm up by getting close to each other...that could result in them having sex as well.

Birth control (and other means of contraception) are incredibly expensive! Also, the more children, the EASIER it is to support the family because the children can ALSO work. As for more homework, it is because they are trying to be more economically competitive.

They have no reality TV or Yahoo Answers for outside entertainment to keep busy so they reproduce like rabbits. Also, since survival rates are low they have more children with the hope that one of their kids will be successful.

Because they lack the education we do, so they don't know about birth control and such. They also seem to think that the more kids they have, the more help they have on the farm and such, but they don't think about the fact that it's also more mouths to feed. Ignorance is the key there.
