ok i a republican. i consider myself conservative. but i don't hate gays, i don't hate black people, i don't LOVE george bush , and i don't hate a liberals/ democrats. yes i think homsexuality is wrong and unhealthy for society. but that doesn mean i hate gay people! somtime i think that liberals are more"intolerant" than conservatives.its seems like every liberal or democrat i meet automatically hates me because of what i believe is right, isn't that what they are fighting against? "intolerance" ?

could sombody please explain this to me? and don't be insulting or rude. i'm just curious

I don't HATE either.
Intollerant...eh...maybe.
Tolerance is just a way of being indifferent or afraid to take a side. Some things in life require you to take a stand.
Just by saying you think being gay is wrong - you have taken a stand.
This society has to start being accountable for the moral decay of it's citizens. We HAVE to start saying some behaviors are just plain wrong and we as a society won't "accept" and "tolerate" this deviant behavior.

Lead, Follow, or get out of the way...those who tolerate are not the leaders. Leaders take a stand.

My wife's family is die-hard Republican, and I am die-hard Democrat. I don't hate them, I don't hate anyone based on their political beliefs. It's just a difference of opinion on what's best for our country. I will never understand why there is so much talk about homosexuality. They are people, just like you and me. What they do with their love life is none of our business. There was a time when people spoke of blacks the same way we speak of homosexuals now. I guess you could say that I am intolerant of intolerance. Treating someone different because of their sexual preference is discrimination and discrimination is illegal. That's not to say that I feel that they should be given special treatment. I am against that also. I just feel that they should be treated just like everyone else. How is two gay men getting married going to effect you personally? What people do in their private life, as long as it is within the law, is their business and we have no right to tell people how to live their lives.

sway- to say that liberals are only tolerant of criminals and lazy people is just as much of a stereotype as saying that conservatives hate gay people. The way I see it, the welfare system is there for people who truly need it (and believe me, there are people who truly need help). The problem is that people (lazy people) will always find a way to beat the system. That doesn't mean that we should take it away from those who need it. We need better enforcement of the rules, more checks and balances to make sure that the right people are getting the help. I don't think that anyone, conservative or liberal, is tolerant towards criminals. However, I do believe that everyone has a right to a fair trial, and that everyone is innocent until proven guilty. I also believe that people deserve second chances in most situations (premeditated murder, rape, and child molestation being the exceptions).

the times have changed.
in the past to be rep. or dem. meant that individual was solidly on those principles.

now, there is a blurring of values between the two parties where there is no 100 percent this or that.

You are being resented for being the new hybrid.

Only Islam will provide the peace and justice to All humanity as it is a system not created by man. It will not benefit only the wealthy , or only big business or special interest groups.

Do not be mislead by the media. Islam is far more powerful and TRUE than they would have you believe. How can one truly believe the media when:

Karl Rove, President Bush's special advisor, met with 40 Hollywood executives on the second week in November, 2001, to enlist their help in the nation's cause, the war against terrorism

It's called "out-group stereo-typing", and it is a control tactic. Convince people in your group that those who don't agree with you are stupid, racist, hateful, etc., and people within the group will be afraid to challenge your authority or dissent in any way.
This tactic is used by people on both sides. It is not a liberal or conservative thing persay, it is a control tactic used by self-serving leaders.
I strongly, strongly, recommend that you read Tammy Bruce. The New Thought Police, and The Death of Right and Wrong. These books will open your eyes, empower you, and change your life.

Listen to the likes of your fellow conservatives Ann Coulter and Rush Limbaugh, and see how "tolerant" they are about liberals. Maybe the liberals you run into are tired and wary of being called "libtards", "feminazis" or "environmental wackos" by conservatives.

There's intolerance on both sides of the aisle. True, liberals do their share of bashing. But conservatives are far from innocent in all of this.
