i gave my daughter orajel at 3.5 months none of the teethers, tylenol, washcloths, or orajel really worked for us
i massaged her gums with the baby tooth brush that slips on your finger with tiny bristles on it (it came with baby orajel tooth and gum cleaner) she loves it and will bite down as i rub back and fourth
good luck

Orajel is fine. Lil Teethers is fine too. Cold washcloth works good too. Or just a teether that is a different texture...not a ring. Be prepared, this can go on for awhile. They can feel teething symptoms for months before the teeth come. I have 3 kids---they were all majorly cranky cranky around 2.5-3 months. And drool buckets! My daughter eventually got her teeth at 7 months, my 1st son at 5 months, and my last son at 7.5 months. All bottoms first.

This sounds cruel but it works! The last couple of layers of skin are the most sensitive and have the most nerves. Our Dentist recommended loading our kids up with Motrin and Orajel, then use your thumb and press firmly into the gum. This helps the tooth cut through the last few skin layers and stops most of the pain. Yes they scream, but sometimes it takes two or three days for the tooth to cut through on its own, plus kids often end up with ear infections after cutting teeth. This way it is over and done with.

Check with your Dr. on the orajel. Try a wash cloth that has been wet & frozzen or even a frozen wafful. You may want to make sure he doesn't have ear infection. Every time my son cut teeth he got it. He never cut one, it was always 2 or 3. Good luck. It will be over when he's 2.

Calpol/tylenol syrup every 4 hours. Homeopathic Camilia drops.Excellent!!! Frozen anything to gnaw on. This is a tough time. My 4 1/2 month old grandson is going through the same thing and has had an ear infection. Sudafed syrup (a decongestant) can help, for the ears, although it is not recommended for under 20 odd pounds we tried it and I really think it helped. Oragel or something similiar too. Try all of the above and see what works for your little one. Good luck!! This too shall pass.

ahh...we are going thru the same thing. my daughter cut her first tooth about 4 days ago and the one next to it is ready to come thru her gums any day now. and let me tell you she is cranky cranky cranky these last couple days. i brought her baby orajel and infant tylenol. she absolutely hates the orajel and to me, it doesnt seem to work. she also absolutely hates the tylenol...she will either spit it right back out or swallow it and throw it back up. and she doesnt like anything cold in her mouth.
so the only thing that i have found to help calm her is to let her chew on a wet washrag (not cold) and i have been carrying her and walking her around alot.

Yes it is safe to use. Call an emergency nurse line for what to do when it is uncontrollable. My baby didn't care for the teething ring either but I gave her a little infant Tylenol and orajel and she was okay.

Try letting him chew on your finger with a damp washcloth around it every once in a while...it really soothes the gums. Whatever you do...do not give motrin this young...only tylenol!Baby orajel is for babies 4 months and older....I would ask your pediatrician. Good luck!

Yeah, orajel is fine. Try some Motrin or Tylenol, there is no reason to make him suffer. You can also buy a gum massager that slips over your finger and gently rub.

Get to your local drug store and ask for "hylands teething tablets" homeopathic stuff that seemed to help my kids.

Also, try a frozen carrot, or wet a thin washcloth and freeze it.
