Not everyone is opposed to it. Some people are into BDSM where they are controlled by their partner. They are called "slaves". Most people, however, are not into being controlled.

it is not emotional abuse, it's mental abuse. Emotional abuse is name calling and things of that nature. But, abuse is abuse. Controlling someone's choices is considered mental abuse. Why would you want to be controlled by someone else. A lot of women think that it's a sign of "love" or that it's not abuse because he's not slapping you around. There are different kinds of abuse.That's not love either. Love is when your partner lets you think for yourself and make your own decisions. There was a case on Oprah on the other day: a woman's husband was controlling, had to have everything done his way. They were getting a divorce and he wanted sole custody, but she wanted joint custody. That set him off. He tried to kill her not once, but 3 times! Do you want to end up as a statistic if you're in that situation?

Because they want the freedom to make their own choices. As a teen, did you ever wish you were a little bit older so that you could make your own decisions instead of listening to your parents. Same concept.

Because we all have the right to make our own decisions about our lives. If someone takes away that right it is a deprevation of their liberty and freedom.

because no one should control another human being. we are all perfectly capable of making our own choices without having someone else tell us what we should or shouldn't do.
