Is this a function problem? Normally it looks like f(x), but now it is just g(x). Same thing, they just used a different variable. Just replace the x with the number in the brackets and solve. Instead of solving for f(x) as a function of x, you are solving for g(x) as a function of x.
Hard to say, need more details.

it means you need to substitute the value of x in ur equation
4 example the equation is g(x) = 3x + 5; then u r asked to solved the value of g(3) it menas u substitue the value of x to ur equation 3(3) + 5 u get 9 + 5= 14

this is a function problem, there is probably something on the page that says g(x) or something and it gives an equation, just plug in 3 in that equation for every (x) or other variable that is given, do the same for 1/3

What's the equation? You have to substitute this g(1/3) into the given equation.

Sounds like a function. For each place you see 'g', you substitute 3.
Helps to see the problem.
