I was just married in november 2005 but my husband is from another country (jordan) please no bad comments. I came back to the united states because I had some family problems. We had one appointment at the american embassy in jordan, and they accepted my husband. But he has to go to one more appointment because this is the process there. He will get his visa in 8 more months, and we have waited long enough. I just want him here with me. It's kiling me really, and it seems theres nothing we can do. Our immigration lawyer in jordan said if wanted an earlier appointment we needed to find someone in the government to help. so i contacted the governor of ohio and they tried calling the embassy but the embassy told them there isn't anything they can do for us now. the lawyer said try someone else in the government. does anyone know what i can do to get a sooner appointment, i feel like no one cares about our situation, im so sad, i just want to be with my husband. Thanks

Sorry about this heartbreaking situation. Try to think of this time next year!! You'll be together!! No chance of you going there, huh? Keep writing to senators, pastors, Jordan embassies in all major American cities. Don't give up. Where there is a will there is a way! Hope you're together real soon!
I'm not joking about this part...Rainbow P.U.S.H. Coalition (Yes, Jesse Jackson's organization) in Chicago may be able to help you. I'm from Chicago and this is just the type of situation that we used to (they still do) deal with.
Best wishes, Doll!

First the Governor will not do anything to help....you have to contact your congress men/women and request them to contact the Department of State since they are the ones who issued the visas, Immigration has nothing to do with it....My advised is to wait since middle eastern citizens they get inspected more than anybody else.....

absence makes the heart grow fonder this is the process that is going to break you but make you just remeber those words in 8 months and then 8 years from now, your married and this will show you that he is truely commited to you and only you,yes it hurts and will hurt as the nights get lkonger and lonier,if emailing and web chat helps its an option hang in there maby get a job to fill in time and the wait will be worth while,i feel for you

Go in person and face to face. Try to find a woman to help you. My guess is she'd be more sympathetic. Try to fill your time in the meantime...8 months is not forever and you will just drive yourself crazy if you make that your 24/7 focus. Try to make friends and prepare a home and life for yourself so that when your husband comes here, he will be proud of your accomplishments.
