Sometimes I think it really doesn't matter if it is me, just so there is SOMEONE to put in that wedding picture. I hate that women are not satisfied to just be happy with the man they love. Why does it always have to be an ultimatum. Marry me or lose me. It is stupid.

By the way, my GF has already been married, has a child that sees and is supported by both loving parents so she is NOT looking for a daddy for her child. It is ultimately going to break us up because I don't want to marry. It has nothing to do with HER, I don't want to marry ANYONE!

What women are you hangin out with? If someone wants to get married, just to get married, that is all about insecurity, and getting married is not going to resolve that issue, not by a long-shot. If on the other hand you want marriage without the actual marriage, that's not really fair of you to ask either.....but hey I'm with you on the not just filling a space in the wedding picture part.

if u don't want 2 get married right now...don't! it's stupid 2 do it because u r pressured. so don't b stupid. some kidz without fathers today display their stupidity because there was really no strict discipline @ home.
most women want 2 because of luv. which is the best reason, i think!
the women that wants 2 marry because she's got a kid, i understand because ultimately, every child deserves an upright, genuine father. plus the woman really might not b able 2 do it by herself. on the other hand, she should pick wisely who she spreads her legs 4. truthfully, it shouldn't happen until after the marriage...on the honeymoon.
there are cases that exist that 1 woman/ 1child can work but tell me...what u seen/counted many or less?

Maybe its a comfort thing. if your married she feels she has every bit of you. if this one don't work then make sure the next girl your with know's you don't want to get married if you get involved.If she has given you an ultimatum. just let her go. im sure you love her but this is no way for a relationship. Times have changed and there are plenty of women out there that would be just fine with not getting married.. But just being happy and loving.. Good luck.. P.S. im married and everything is great. but i completely understand what you are saying. Marriage isn't always the answer i could be just as happy with my husband if we were not married. i don't need a piece of paper to love someone.. Women think if you don't respect her enough to marry her then you must be looking for a better deal and most of the time you are. And besides you sleep with her and stay with her so why not Marry her so she can be a Married Women. It looks like she's just a lady that's getting laided by you now. Make her and Honest Women.

It's now always the case, though. Me and my ex broke up because he is the one pushing the "marriage" thing although I told him I'm not yet ready for it. Now, I am dating a new guy and when he mentions the wedding issue, it pisses me. So it's not always the girls who are up to getting married. Maybe, it happens to everyone, if they felt they found the right person to marry, then they might propose, it's up to their partner if they are ready or not.

Well...I know that women love security.I dont mean financial,either.Your girlfriend has one child? Maybe she loves you and wants a child with you..and maybe her background or religion will not allow her to have children out of wedlock. Women are wired that way. They have a God given need to feel secure. With marriage some women feel secure in areas such as commitment, finances, emotionally, and the like.

Women want to marry because they want emotional and financial security for themselves and their children. They also want to be accepted in that relationship by their family, their religion, and society in general. Marriage is also the best way to protect the woman financially if she should find herself pregnant. In this instance, the question should not be, "Why is marriage so important to women." Rather, it should be, "Why is marriage so unimportant or frightening to me? (the poster of the original question). She is giving you an ultimatum because she is about to move on if you do not change your tune. Change and be happy, buddy. It is better to be married than to be single for the rest of your life.
