*hug* Don't go looking for too much information on the net until you get more information from your doctor. There are various degrees of endometriosis and it ends up different for every woman. I had a doctor once casually tell me that I probably had it (I'm 30 now, but was 25 at the time) and I FREAKED out and searched the internet for information. I scared myself even more. Finally I went to a new female OB-GYN and was very upfront with my concerns. She told me that *if* I had it, it was so mild that I didn't need to worry about it right now. All that anxiety for nothing.

If you need more information after you get the results from this doctor, don't be afraid to ask your parents to take you to another doctor for a second opinion. After you have more specific information from a doctor or two, THEN go on the net and look for websites. Support groups are good places to get real life information and comfort.

endometriosis is when some of the cells lining the inside of your uterus (which are the cells you slough off every month during your period) get OUTSIDE of rhe uterus and into the abdominal cavity. when these cells are out in the abdomen where they shouldnt be, they still continue to act the same way they do when they are in the uterus - they continue to grow, get thicker, and slough off each month with your period and your hormonal cycles. this makes your periods heavier, painful, bad abdominal cramping...it really makes for some terrible periods. it can be fixed with the pill and with some other medications that your doctor can recommend.
