Ever since I was little I've been having dreams about trains. I live in NYC and the subway is a daily part of life for me. But whenever I dream about them it's oddly scary, they are portrayed as dark and scary and they rarely meet their destinations. I've had this one reoccuring dream in which my mother and I are in a train station and it's lit with these bright florecent lights that hurt my eyes. We end up getting into what on the outside looks like a typical NYC subway train except that its almost at a 90 degree angle and on the inside it resembles an Amtrack train. We settle in and as i'm looking out the window a woman is arguing with a man over whats in her bag. The the train doors close and i notice that theres no tunnle opening and before i can say something we take off and then usually the dream switches or I wake up. I've had this dream since I was 6. Usually in my dreams I'm on the R, A, L, J, M or G train I only take the A and the L regularly though. I have no idea what train

Veronique:

Something about your dream is very haunting. There is a profound message attempting to be conveyed to you from your unconscious mind , and I suspect you will continue to be troubled by these dreams until you begin to take appropriate action.

Our psyche is charged with the responsibility of finding a solution to our emotional conflicts experienced in our waking life via symbols and scenarios that are sometimes disturbing. During r.e.m. (rapid eye movement) sleep, the unconscious mind quickly paints with a vivid brush in a manner that solves problems. Either we are allowed to express ourselves in a manner that is forbidden in "real" life, or we are given haunting warnings that linger into our waking life, and eventually stir us to action. Your posting to Yahoo Answers is an example of the latter.

If I am understanding your description properly, the train is pointing upwards (90 degrees). If this is so, you are on a rocket, or space ship, and the subway is in fact a launching pad. The argument over the contents of the purse is extemely significant. I would guess that the purse represents your mother's womb, the contents represents you, and the argument is over your very existence in this world.

The pain of rejection is a soul-killer. Your unconscious mind is aware of this, and is providing an extreme solution, in the form of inter-stellar flight. Now that you are an adult, however, you have the ability to act in a manner that is less spectacular, but will accomplish your goals, nevertheless.

According to your unconscious mind, it is probably best to close the door on your past and make a fresh start, possibly in a new geographical location. The pain and confusion of your childhood has many stark reminders in your city, and it's time to give yourself an opportunity to carve out a new destiny in surroundings that are more positive.

I hope this has provided some insight to what must be a troubling problem. Good luck and God bless you!

This is one interpretation:

THE TRAIN could be where you're future is heading....the future can be pretty scary and unpredictable. (you don't know where it will lead) And, the fact that the trains never meet their destinations could play in that uncertainty and mystery.

THE LIGHTS that hurt you eyes-- your "blind" so to say in your present life and perhaps your future. Maybe you don't take a full look at what is occuring around you.---IT HURTS-- the effect that this "blindness" is having on you.

TYPICAL part of the dream-- what you see as normal...you think life may be on the right track or place, but perhaps you need to do some re-evaluating....because obviously something is going amiss.

YOUR MOTHER is obviously someone very important in your life. You see her going with you and being there for you during life's journey. And, perhaps you also see security in being around her.

90 DEGREE ANGLE-- something unexpected. A complete turn in your life.

THE WOMAN AND MAN-- represent conflict and mystery. Who are they?--and What is in that bag?--An air of uncertainty and perhaps danger...this coincides with the train ride...
***You are looking out the window---How do you know they are arguing over the bag...? Can you hear them..?---If the door is still open..perhaps you are "running away" from a conflict that leads to a path of uncertainty.

NO TUNNEL OPENING-- you don't know what is happening. Confusion. Is there a way out...of this path..this future...this choice?

VARIETY OF TRAINS ---you're choices/paths you may take. All may be uncertain...but, maybe A & L are more familiar to you and the safer choice.

Hope this helps. I'm not an expert or anything and I really don't know anything about you. However, this is an interpretation to consider. But, you really would probably be the best one at figuring it out. You know yourself better than anyone else could possibly. And, perhaps later in life you will realize what it all meant. I think most of what occurs in a dream involves symbolism. And symbols are open to many interpretations.

Good Luck. ;)

It constantly changes as people fall asleep and shape parts of it, then wake up and their dreams dissolve back into mist. A dreams dictionary always helps ( for other descriptions needed ). http://myjellybean.com/dream/pagey.html

The Train - could represent moving forward -and
I'd say the things you describe do indicate a fear of moving forward.

The thing about the man and woman arguing about whats in her bag - could indicate that you feel that a man is overly critical of a woman in your life. Perhaps over something that is private/personal to her.

In dream interpretation it's not so much about the things you dream about but what they mean to you. So your description of the dream is actually more significant than the dream itself.
When interpreting my friend's dreams I ask them to describe it, then take key elements and ask them what they mean to them. With you I would say "what might a train represent?" "What do you think the woman's bag might represent?" etc.

Shadow/Black-remember manipulation is often cool, as in manipulating components. in my opinion, it is best in case you hold the form of powers short. you ought to finally end up falling in a similar place as X-adult males and famous individual Wars; no longer that they are any undesirable, notwithstanding it relatively is no longer common to maintain public interest whilst the characters have an encyclopedic selection of powers and that they're a similar powers you notice everywhere. As for powers... Hm, enable me see. How approximately issues like changing frequencies of life (form of like radio/universe moving powers) or once you're utilising the assumption of souls, soul-destroying or manipulation/an infection; capability soaking up or essence soaking up (For determining to purchase the essence of specific gadgets).
