Maybe you should read the book "Seventh Son" by Orson Scott Card. Other than that, I think they can do stuff on highway 61 and be mentioned on Iron Maiden albums.

They are supposed to have magic powers or if you prefer physic powers. such as reading the future, predicting the weather (with out turning on the radio or tv)ect.
