I am a tomboy...I'm 27, petite, but I can not get into doing girly stuff. I don't wear make up or dresses. I would rather wear a bandana or a ball cap than fix my hair which I have kept short until recently. I like to buy old trucks and fix them up (and yes this means I buy the parts and put them on myself). I would rather chew off my own arm than go shopping. I have tried to be more girly lately for my husband but when I did this he didn't seem to be interested in me physically. Are there guys out there that like girls like me? And is it a turn on to see a women do the things that I do?

Oh and by the way...my husband is not handy around the house either...I had to teach him how to put in a toilet and put up drywall. And I am not looking for someone else, it was just a question.

He probebly likes you and married you because thats the way you are. I personally like tomboys just because they arnt all into makeup and clothes and all that. It doesnt mean your not like a woman, its just attractive when you find someone you can relate to much better than others, and for myself when I find a women that I can relate with, I love it.

Well, I'm not a guy, but it is refreshing to see there's at least one other woman in the world that doesn't faint at the thought of breaking a nail!
I'm an excellent mechanic, I love football & hockey (base ball is ok too), drink beer, eat cold pizza, despise dresses, makeup is for other people, a shopping trip that takes more than 30 minutes drives me nuts, and I never owned a Barbie!
Ok, yeah, it does sound a little "butch" but I just was never a girly-girl! I do have some "feminine" hobbies, but for the most part, I'm pretty non-traditional.

There must be some guys that like the same thing - WE both landed husbands! Cheers to us!

Some guys do get intimidated by girls who don't get into the girly things. Personally I can see a quite few advantages having a girlfriend who's happy swinging off the end spanner. Still, it's all about who you're happiest being. And if it's you, warts'n'all, then it's up to the other person to accept this, and let you be yourself.

I always wanted to be the kind of gal who could put a roof on the garage, tile the bathroom, use powertools, you know, be handy. instead, I stand lamely by handing my husband screws and 2x4s. So, NO, don't try to be "girly" to attract a partner. You sound great just the way you are!

Do you have a sister? Cause if so ...

Seriously, I'd love to meet someone like you one day. It would be great to have someone who would help to restore a car, help to work on the soccer fields, or spend some time on the ranch.

I do like the soft feminine stuff too. A fancy evening out once a month or so would be really nice.

Its not a turn on to me. I love "girly" girls. Petite, natural and feminine, doing feminine type of things, etc. I don't like make up and polished toe and fingernails... Of course there are guys that are attracted to "Butch" or "Tomboy" girls... It's a good thing that your husband likes you the way that you are!

I know what you mean girl!I'm a tomboy myself! My husband says he wouldnt have me any other way.He thanks its sexy,at least thats what he told me.Because he like someone who is just as rough as him or rougher than him.Which he also likes the fact I help him with alot of things plus take care of the kids and I dont like to spend money unless its needed or something we both or the kids want.Plus he said that I dont complain about him being to rough and I'm not messin my face up with makeup, messin my hair up with hair spray even though I do occassionally try something new with it but dont spend time with fixing it.Plus he says that he like me the way I am because I'm myself and not trying to be like someone else.I wear what I want when I want.Do what I want when I want.Go whereever whenever I want.He likes it most of all because I'm being myself! So your hubby is probably the same way.He wants you to be you and no one else.So dont be discurraged and dont try to be someone your not.Be yourself and be cool with it.

Clearly there are guys out there that like girls like you since you are married to one. Equally clearly you aren't a girlie girl and you shouldn't waste your time trying to be one. Being true to yourself will get you a lot more attention than trying and failing to be something you're not.

I'd say it's MOST attractive when somebody - guy or girl - is being themselves instead of trying to be someone they aren't. You've got to be you. Trying to change yourself isn't the answer - just find someone that appreciates you for who you are, and remember, it's a two way street.
