If its gills are still moving, it's probably just bloated.

Floating or actually swimming? If he's a floater, he's dead, but you probably knew that. Swimming on its back? I don't think it could be pregnant unless it's been living with boy fish & you know for a fact the fish is a girl.

If its floting on a side, that means he is dead.

But if he is actually swimming on his back - check if there is anything in the water that is making him uncomfortable. Did u change the water recently? If so, try putting him in to a bowl of fresh water and see if he settles down.

I hope he survives!!

It is probably bloated. Always keeps your water clean. Put some salt after changing partial water. Use pet shop anti bacteria liquid or ask pet shop for advice. Usually not easy to cure especially if it has no apetite -- will die....

something like that happened to my fish once - I was quite little at the time, and it really scared me, so what I did was put it in a bowl with fresh water and sort of "massage" it, get it to move, I know this sounds silly, but it worked - probably the fresh water bit... anyway, you can at least try putting it in fresh water, and wait until it gets better ....

I'm sorry to tell you but your fish is dead, or so close to death that there is nothing you can do to save it. Let it go to fish heaven and flush the fish down the toilet. I'm so very sorry for your loss, please be brave and remember the good times.

most of the time it maens that the fish is unhappy with his habitat for some reason. try a warmer water temperature. maybe add a tea spoon of salt to the tank to help.

Normally it means he's sick, or dead. He might need some special food for a while, to help him get better.

Turn the tank over? No, seriously, I suspect it's sick. Probably not much you can do but wait and see what happens.
