Hi.

At least in 2005 a dietitian earned on average $35,300-$46,000.
The high end is around $50,000-$72,000.
This may have changed for 06. or maybe it would change according to where a person works or if in a private practice to some rich person. I had some classes on this in college and while I was really interested in this subject i don't remember too much from it. I do remember hearing of the difference between a dietitian and and a nutritionist and how wide open the pay scale is for a nutritionist.

A dietitian has received formal specialized training and is considered a health care professional but I was told that nutritionists(who doesn't need to be accredited or have any education) can earn much more money but it is a matter of chance almost. Many nutritionists have earned millions of dollars due to best-selling books or being on t.v or helping celebrities with diet.
