Let's suppose you have a series of repetitive tasks you need to do in a Word document you have been working on. You could do it by making the same keystrokes over and over again or you could use a Macro. A Macro performs those same keystrokes without you having to type them in - the Macro will repeat the keystrokes for you. You can create a Macro in Word by recording the keystrokes you want to do (in Word, go to Tools, and look for the Macro menu item, or alt+F8) or you can use the Macro editor that comes built into Word.

I would suggest you check What is a macro in a search engine. In addition check some of the computer manuals in Borders or Barnes and Noble and read up onhow you can use them. Also post your question in ABOUT. You will find many knowledgeable computer "geeks''''''''''" there.
One of the primary purposes of computers is to simplify and make our lives and jobs easier. They can and do. However, what if we could simplify our use of the computer and alleviate tedious computer tasks? We would of course be even more productive!
A macro is a way to automate a task that you perform repeatedly or on a regular basis. It is a series of commands and actions that can be stored and run whenever you need to perform the task. You can record or build a macro, and then play the macro to automatically repeat the series of commands or actions.
A macro is a set of commands that can be played back at will to perform a given task. These tasks can be something simple from inserting your name and address into a word processor to something more complex such as launching a program, copying data from it, activating another program, pasting the data into it and repeating this several times. Tasks performed by macros are typically repetitive in nature allowing significant savings in time by executing the macro instead of manually repeating the commands.

a macro is a program which in microsoft word you can program to do things you wanna automate on word like say a guy opens a document and you want him to instantly see the second page instead of the first. you can code and create a macro to automatically do that and much more. but unless you are fimiliar with the programming language visual basic and know how to code you won't get very far with creating macros. if yu wanna lern how to create macros i suggest borrowing a book frpm the library or there are many online manuals. P.S. macros are also usually referrred to as viruses cuz they do stuff automatically and stuff which people don't find amuzing!
