I have rhythm (I play several instruments) but I don't have the moves. Would you have fun teaching me or give me an instruction video and say "call me in a couple of weeks"?

Is that a hypothetical quesion or an invitation?

Well, I'll be modest and assume it's a hypothetical question.
Yes, I'd teach you, I like teaching how to dance. Being a dancer, and remembering what it's like to be a beginner (even a very musical beginner myself) I think it is nearly impossible to learn from a video without any feedback from somebody more experienced. Once you gain some control over your body, instructional video become helpful and not so frustrating. Seriously, you can't even ask a question to your TV, how are you expected to learn anything.

Maybe ask your date why did she do it? Did she see it as the most productive way? Was it a test - would you even try to learn? Was she annoyed at you?

Well, I dont know how to dance either, so I just say, be how you are and have fun dancing, but there are movies at your nearest video store on dancing, good luck!
