if you have a generic computer can you reboot it will a dell cd?

I have the generic restart cd but when i reinstalled it it cant find the usb drivers since the computer worked fine about two hours ago i know they work.

the computer is by northgate. but i dont think that they make computers anymore???

Vendor CD's often check the computer to make sure it is their brand, or they won't run.

Generic OEM CD's will install on any computer, but may not have all the drivers. You may have to see a technician. I use Everest to identify motherboards, but I dont think you can download it anywhere.

The idea is to look up the mobo on the manufacturer's web site and see if you can download the USB drivers.

That's not the best way to approach it but if you need the usb drivers , go to driverguide, start a free account, and search for the name of the usb drivers you need, they have it all. Good Luck
