I've been noticing that music has changed a lot since I began high school, and that was just four years ago. It seems like it's going much more rock as opposed to pop. I've even noticed some disco type music. What do you think? What direction would you like to see it go?

Interesting observation. I believe that music is always influenced by the changing trends and culture around us. Music has been around a while and doesn't stop evolving. What may appeal to you 10 years ago, might sound terrible to your ears now! (it depends, still, on whether it is still popular, like the classics). I would like to see music have more rock, and I think you are right! Rock on!

I would like to see the Marilan Manson type music dissapear, as it's so demonic and meaningless.
I think the 70's and 80's music is actually returning because everyone seems to be do re-mixes.
Go the 70's!

Music is evolving for sure, and the preference is going away from hip-hop back to rock, early eighties style, tight pants, punk style rock. I'm not the biggest fan of this emergence, but it's better than the shallowness of current rap.

I would like to see it go back in the direction of bands from the British Invasion in the 1960s. Popular music has been going steadily downhill since 1974.

I think its going in a bad direction. Rap slowed down, all the beats sound the same. "White" music sucks now too, everyone looks the same and wears the same thing and plays the same music.

The music of today is travelling in a swirling motion-round and round, while going a bit further south each circle it makes.
I'd like to punish those responsible for flushing!

Most of it has descended into the pit and it has progressively worsened over the past 40 years. I wish some parents would bust a guitar over some of their heads and them jab them in the gut with the broken guitar handle before tossing them off the stage and taking their kids home.

Down hill like a f*cking landslide. Until Anselmo and Down start rocking again. This pop sh*t sucks a**. It's all the same and really bad.

down the toilet. present pop music sucks.

The best of the past, when songs actually meant something.
stirs the most passions.
Todays songs are meaningless drivel if they aren't just remakes of other old songs.

I've stopped listening to the new stuff, there are more than enough CDs of wonderful music to last me several lifetimes.

I see a lot of young people listening to rap (which I despise). Hip-hop is not too bad, but I think it is mostly going to Rap and Electronic music unfortunately. Soon, we'll have robots singing on the radio (that's a great, new show 'Robot Idol').
