Because for some reason, they think it's cool. They try copy what they see on MTV, I don't think that they know any better. They probably think that they are just being normal. All they hear is rap and hip-hop, and they think this is the way they are supposed to live.As for rich little white boys, they see the materialistic ways tht rappers portray themselves, with expensive, clothes, shoes, hats, and have to get all of that for themselves.

It's not just boys, I mean, walk through a mall sometimes and you'll hear a white girl saying something like "holla atcha' lata!" or some stupid thing like that. It's an epidemic!

People are free to associate with whatever culture they like and identify with. In the case of the over-privilaged children, I would say it's more often than not, a matter of rebellion. But for others, it's about expressing how you feel and living true to your inner self. For some the rhythmic beat of a djembe drum appeals more to their soul than the twang of a steel guitar. So be it. A woman can express "manly," a black person can express "white," so why can't a white person express "black?"

Why? Because people are narrow-minded.

i blame the rap music.

Rap gained ALOT of air-time after grunge weakened rock and metal popularity around the early 90's.

and as such people went from acting like hard-brawling rockers to pimped out rappers who are mostly black and from the urban community.

also its just rick boys, it's any boy who listen to that music. rich people are just more noticable.

you can also blame the rappers that support Phat, the clothing line thta made them popular. the owner of that company was a rapper back in the 80's and wanted to make it a bigger item and went for it.

Why do some people think they have to conform to a stereotype (ANY stereotype?) instead of being themselves? Self loathing, maybe.

If you care what others think more than how you feel about yourself, you're in trouble. Gangstas be listenin, dogs. See how silly it seems when you look at my avatar? But if you stop wearing your favorite clothes because they're "out of style" then you're just as bad as those "wiggers" we're talking about.

Everyone should be who they are..rather they be black, white, red or yellow....a person should be proud of their own race and quit trying to be something they're not...trying to be something or some other than what and who they really are is leading a false life and being a false person.

Why do you define people as black or white based on how they act or superficial things like clothing and stereotypes? Perhaps you are the one whose attitude needs to be readjusted...
