I am trying to decide between human services, and nursing. Anyone know which one I should choose? Love human services, but nursing pays more.

Nursing pays more for a reason... those hospitals must provide 24 hour service and nurses normally rotate shifts. It's probably not an ideal job for someone with a family... you'll have to work sometimes while your children sleep. And while you sleep at home, your children will be awake. Human Services, on the other hand, rarely requires that kind of time commitment. You can work from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at many places... however sometimes evenings are required. But your question asks about availability... and due to an aging population with more health problems than you can shake a stick at... I KNOW it will be nursing. (See the Department of Labor's statistics on projected growth for nursing... compare to human services... please note the large difference.)

I am going into nursing. You can work wherever you want in the world when you become a nurse, and the pay is good for the amount of school it requires. You will NEVER be without a job. Google travel nurse agency and check it out. That should help you make up your mind.

I think nursing will continue to be very much in demand.

People just don't want to work that hard any more.
