The times when I've been most scared in my life, it was pitch black. I was so scared I wouldn't even open my eyes. Think about it that way: you have to rely on your other senses, and because you can't see what's happening or lurking near you, you're even more scared.

Well what I understand from the assignment is that you have to write a description of a beautiful sight so what I would do is imagine a sight or a landscape, maybe one that you have been to before or taken a picture of. Then describe it using all the senses you can remember from the sight. What can you see?hear?smell? Can you taste anything? Hope this helps :)

It seems hard to write a paragraph without using sight descriptions, but it's really quite easy. Get creative and describe the way things feel, sound, or smell. I'm not sure what you are writing about, but you could use something like "Cold, musty air surrounded me and sent a chill up my spine as I slowly pulled open the creaking basement door." Focus on what your other senses would be picking up if you were unable to see.

I guess you would use words to make the picture in ones mind.
The cool morning, being filled with fog, made the Tombstone obscure as being seen through a frosted window. As Willie walked closer he could see the fresh dirt of the grave void of grass. As the sounds of birds waking filled the air, Willie heard a strange sound. Stopping and hold his breath, he listened. It sounded like a small high pitched squeak, like a door opening with hinges needing oiled. It was behind him! As chills ran up his legs, he turned quickly as a spinning top. But, it was upon him! He leaped to his left to avoid it, but, not quick enough. A claw penetrated his neck with the sharpness of a razor and the skill of an experienced predator. Blood gushing from his neck like a water fountain, Willie fell to the ground holding his right hand over the gaping wound. Where was his attacker? He looked frantically around in the fog! It was gone. Willie laid on the cold ground bleeding and slowly losing consciousness. Suddenly the Grave opened..................
Well this best I know. Hope you get the "Picture".

I read John Saul's horror books. You can download some from the internet. Just have a look inside. You should read "Here Comes The Blind Fury".
There is a little girl at the beginning of the book who is blind and kids laugh at her. They drag her to some place and she falls off some cliff. You can work on this and say how would she feel falling and not seeing anything, trying to cling to something. But you need a setting - you can turn this story to when the girl is still alive and in the woods and she touches things and hear wild screams.

Maybe your main character is blind, making the sense of sight unnecessary. That way the sense of hearing would mostly be used throughout your story. Describe a lot of sounds like creaking of the floorboard, a thunderstorm, etc. Hope that gives you an idea!

You could describe eerie sounds and unsettling feelings. The chill of the night air, the rustling of trees, creaking in the wind...etc.

Use the other senses, like hearing, smell, touch, and taste. Think of haunted houses...putting your hand into "guts" (cooked spaghetti), the sound and smell of the chainsaw, the bitter "taste" of fear, etc. Have fun with your assignment!
