Do you play the banjo?

I play and teach a five-string banjo technique called frailing. It's an interesting approach to music because the basic picking pattern creates this vibe where you are playing a rhythm line and a melody line at the same time.

I have written two books on frailing banjo. Both titles are available freely on line (it's folk music so you have to keep the information available to everyone or run the risk of screwing up your karma) and cover enough material to keep you picking for years.

Also keep in mind that the banjo can be used in a wide range of musical settings. When I was a kid in Philadelphia I jammed with more than a few rock groups and nowadays I use frailing banjo to knock out slide blues tunes.

It's a simple instrument with unlimited potential that you can learn to play in an afternoon. Gotta love that.

My friend met them once, said that avocados held more intelligence. He basically thinks they are tools and some record industry person thought they could cash in by making them look goth and giving them some songs they could say they wrote.

Hell yeah! I jam every night at the coffee house along with my buddy bud who rocks on his bongos! Together, we make a great smashing team! We're a wonderful duo, which makes me wonder why we aren't on a label yet.
