Complete flushing a automatic transmission can take up to twelve quarts of auto trans fluid. The machine I use removes the old fluid from the transmission cooler line and installs new ATF into where I pulled the line off. However if you just put in one or two quarts of the wrong fluid what you did should be just fine. Dextron fluid just helped clean and revitalized your trans seals

Yes have the dextron flushed out, and replaced with the correct fluid. Most of the transmission problems in a Dodge can be traced to improper fluid!!

No, it'll require about a 100 times more fluid, as all your doing is mixing the old and new. Some place now offer a tranny flush, which is supposed to replace dang near 100% of the old fluid to new. The down fall to that is the prices. I'd shop around, unless you got some mechanic friends that know this kind of system. Is called T tec.
Better yet, all you have to do is buy a bottle of a transmission modifier. I can't remember the name of it to save my life, but is about a 16oz bottle, and is used as a substitute, instead of buying alot of atf 4. I know Napa sells them, and they run about $15 for that bottle. Sorry about that poor advice.

Call around to your local shops.Find one that uses the B.G. transmission transfusion system. It requires only 14 quarts of fluid, takes about 20 min. and you will have new fluid throughout the whole system. My shop charges less than 60 bucks for the service.Others may vary, but the system works very well.it will flush the torque converter as well as the filter and all valves and passages in the transmission.

maybe pull the pan off and change the filter you could take out the torque converter too. depends how new of a trans it is. it should be OK. change it in a 1000 miles or so but dont ever after that change it all anyway its best to leave some old fluid in.
