As horrible as both events were, nothing compares to 9/11.
These two are so different, one was a natural disaster, and another was an act of terrorism, an attack on our country.
Yes, many people were effected by Katrina, but not since Pearl Harbor has an event in history hurt the pride of so many Americans as 9/11 did.

Lot's of people died in both of these things. I think 9/11 was the worst. Hurricane Katrina was bad too because all these were trapped in there houses with no food and yea there bodies were floating around and rotting. I also understand that kids coundn't go back to there schools for a long time, like 3 months. I felt really sorry for both of the things and for the people.

I live in Mississippi and experienced Katrina first hand. BUT, September 11, 2001 was much worse than Hurricane Katrina. Katrina victims had plenty of warning. We knew for several days that we could be in the direct path of this storm. People in New Orleans KNEW they were living in a city below sea level and KNEW they were in danger of being either drowned by a flood or blown away by a hurricane. They live there anyway. September 11, no one working in those buildings had any warning that they were about to be murdered.

Katrina. We couldn't have seen 9/11 happening, and when it happened, the country banded together to fight an evil instead of acting partisan and pointing fingers. For a little while at least, then the liberals got afraid when people were becomming patriotic and did publicity hatchet jobs on conservatives.

We had a 2 day warning of Hurricane Katrina's arrival. However, because of partisan finger pointing and blame mongering made by liberals, people started pointing fingers against eachother instead of helping the victims. Hurricane Katrina's political fingerpointing has hurt the victims of the storm and has brought out the worst in Americans.

1st of all we have the same name, so Kudos to that!
Anyway..... They were both devastating and are 2 totally different disasters. Terrorists and Mother Nature- Don't mess with either! I know 1st hand about Katrina, b/c I'm a red Cross volunteer so that really plays a significant part in my life, but I think 9/11 is the worst thing that could happen to America, b/c it really shook things up. I had no idea (granted i was 16) that something like that could ever happen. I didn't understand that there could be so much hatred that you would kill so many INNOCENT ppl.
I don't know if you can really say which one is worse, b/c they aren't different kinds of Disasters, but either way they both Shook up our nation!

More people died on 9/11 than from Hurricane Katrina. 9/11 death count is at 2,752 and Katrina at 1,213.

While I think both events were absolutely horrible, there was warning given on the hurricane coming and evacuations were ordered. 9/11 was a complete surprise.

They were both horrible catasrophes no matter what. The only difference was that people in Ny did not go around looting and stealing. 9/11 brought people closer as a human race and a country. By the way, people were trapped for days without food and there are still body parts not being investigated that lie atop buildings around the scene. Both very, very horrible, though.

Well according to sheer volume Katrina but I think 9/11 was because that was an attack, while katrina was a natural disaster, you can't blame nature, and no it was not Bush'es fault he didn't cause the Hurricane

That is like comparing apples and oranges. And what do you mean no where to go! I'm not sure where you live, but here in Houston we opened our homes, hearts, and wallets to Katrina refugees. This was obviously a poor decision on our part because now we are left with a bunch of criminals, gang members, and homeless people that are taking advantage of our generosity. Our taxes go to pay for these people who obviously have no ambition, desire to work, or plans to get back on their own feet. Our city has offered over 5,000 jobs to these people, but they would rather commit crimes and live off of our hard earned money. People complain about illegal aliens, but at least they contribute to our society. So if I must choose, yeah Katrina was worse, and I am not looking forward to the upcoming hurricane season one bit.

katrina was the worst b/c people had no where to go for a long time and they were without food and water also no medical supplies off hand, 9/11 people had help right away and they had been given medical supplies and other things and they had familes from other states to go stay with.
