Change your water pump.Sounds like you have low pressure in your cooling syatem causing the sensor to trip.
Change the belt and hoses too.

Get a rubber hammer and tap on the coolant reservoir. It should go out. The sensor sticks on your model. I work at a Pontiac dealer, and that is the first thing to try. Just make sure you DO have coolant in the tank. The 4 cyl. models of your car do have some coolant troubles, and the 6 cyl. models have a habit of leaking coolant from the intake gaskets into the oil. Good luck.

If the low coolant easy comes on. It ability the water on your radiator is low. Or the sensor is malfunctioning. examine the coolant reservoir in direction of the front of the engine. If no water or antifreeze is there. Fill it up. If it extremely is finished, unplug the two wires going to the sensor. the sunshine could bypass out. If it does, it extremely is the sensor. each and every each and every now and then you extremely can jiggle the sensor and it will relax. do no longer open the radiator cap if the engine is warm. enable it cool off and then examine the water point. reliable success
