I can't stand the thought that I might have indirectly stepped on someone. Freaks me out a little. Don't want someone reaching up and shaking my leg.

Me too! I walk in between heastones on tiptoes and never stay for very long. I get the creepiest feeling. Same thing at funerals, I can;t get close to the person being laid out, it's just too freaky.
You're not alone....

I was always taught it is just disrespectful to walk on someone's grave. Seriously, though, don't be frightened. Cemetaries are actually very peaceful places. Unfortunately, I have discovered this after recently losing my husband. I am now a frequent visitor to where he is buried, along with my kids. I am now teaching them it is disrespectful to the memory of the deceased person to walk on their grave.

When I visit the cemetary, I try to be careful not to walk directly on people's graves...just out of respect.
