There have been several specials and movies dedicated to both the attacks on the World Trade Centers and the United 93 crash, but next to nothing about the Pentagon attack. Obviously the loss of life was greater in the WTC attacks, but it just seems unfair to overlook those who died elsewhere. Why has this happened?

I'm not looking for opinions on whether it was a conspiracy or missle that hit the Pentagon instead of a plane or anything like that; regardless of your opinion on that matter, a lot of innocent lives were taken and should be paid attention to just like the victims of the other attacks...

they were soldiers, and although it was a tragedy, we tend to minimalize the loss of soldiers. we know that ultimately that can happen to any one of them and so we as a society aren't as shocked when a soldier dies. sad but true. where as the citizens that died were not specialists in defending our country and we mourn they're sacrifice.

Well, I think that when they talk about that attack, they are really lumping the two together as one event. Nobody has ever said that those who died in the World Trade Center were more heroic than those who died in the Pentagon.

I think the WTC thing is a "New York" thing... and they focused on those city firemen and policemen. But I don't think there has been any intent to minimize what happened to the other victims.

Yes, 184 people were killed when the 'plane hit the pentagon. The first TV film shortly after it happened showed just the tail section with the rest of the 'plane inside the building, which was quite badly damaged. Then "they" stopped TV coverage because the Pentagon is a US Military building. The video of the crash was later very reluctantly released by the US Authorities after a court order was granted under the Freedom of Information Act and there are plenty of web sites showing the video of the crash site.

I think from a filmmaker's point-of-view the attack against the Pentagon isn't just as dramatic as the other three attacks. I think a good movie could be made about the teacher and her students that died on that flight on their way to a National Geographic trip in California.

Eh, actually they don't. Since the attacks of September 11th, orginzations all over the country and world have been installed in preserving the thoughts in rememberance of them. The most memorable aspect of the attacks is going to them-the Flight 93 Crash in Somerst County of Pennylvania attracks 100rds of persons daily, and is the center of some very emotional times. Even its decolate location-people from all over can be seen here leaving their thoughts, their tears and their words for others to see they came, they saw and paid their respects.

becuase our gov't would like us to forget that part of 9-11
it's painfully obvious that 21 guys with Box cutters could not crash a plane into one of the most secure buildings in the world.

The pentagon has a defense system that would blow any plane out of the sky that got too close....UNLESS it had a US airfoce transponder

3-4 different cameras caught the crash....and only a 2 second clip has been released from one of them

I'm so glad you asked this question. I've asked the same thing a thousand times. You never hear about them or their families. It's strange.

those who are in the military are expected to give their lives for their country so it was run of the mill for the loss of life
