I was dilated for most of my last pregnacy, between 2 cm and 4 cm. my doctor said warm baths were fine, but no bubble bath. The bubbles can carry bacteria into the vagina and cause infection. All of my babies came out fine and I had warm baths right up until the day they were born. Had to get help to get out of the tub near the end of the last pregnancy, but the bath felt wonderful. If you have a leak of amniotic fluid, however, you should avoid the bath. otherwise, the amniotic sac will protect the baby from warm clean water.

Yes a warm bath is ok. I have a cousin who took a bath at the hospital while she was in labor to relax her nerves. The doc is the one who rec commended it. But needless to say that when you are naked in a bath tub in a room with florescent lights and people walking in and out to check on you is not very relaxing but go ahead just make sure the water isn't too hot and if you start to sweat while in there then get out. It takes time for your body temp to change due to the conditions around it but just make sure not to get too hot.

go for it. It'll be fine. In fact have a glass of wine. I am being completely serious. My OB suggested it when I was at 36 weeks, because I was stressed out. I couldn't believe it but she said that the baby was already cooked and just gaining weight and that 1 glass of wine wasn't going to hurt a thing. So I took a bath and had a glass. It was very nice.
Enjoy yourself and it's really important to relax!

How fare along are you? If you are at your due date take a hot bath and relax because once the baby is born, long relaxing baths will be a thing of the past.

It is OK! My sister in law did this and her water broke the next morning; sooooo it may even induce labor.
