You'll get it out of your head sooner than later. Just think happy thoughts and completely banish it from your mind whenever you start to think about it. Think about me, I think about when I'm upset.

It doesn't matter what you've seen or if other people will try to belittle it and say they have seen worse.
All that matters is that it was really bad to you and that you can't stop thinking about it and are having nightmares. It could be Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, however mild or severe it might be, if it's getting in the way of your life you should make an appointment with your doctor and if they don't help you then maybe find a therapist on your own.
I did read a book once about changing thought patterns. Decide "I'm not going to think about this anymore" and when that thought arises, calmly think of something else, anything else, but preferably something soothing. Maybe come up with something in advance, you know , your 'happy place' ;). It will be rough at first but it should get much easier with time. But again, if you can't get past it then by all means you should talk to a professional.

You need to talk to someone that you can confide in. Talk to a therapist. I saw a very bad car and motorcycle accident a few years ago and had nightmares and woke up in the middle of the night sweating. It took me a very long time to get this ugly picture out of my mind.

Talk about it to someone, Alot of times that usually works. Think of all of your good times or try to make a new ones. Go do something fun with some good friends, that last all day, uusually it gets stuck in your head and you'll dream of your day instead. New start.

Sometimes leaving soft music on throughout the night..,nothing violent as that may trigger the nightmare. That way your subconscious is hearing the music and may help.Hope this helps and not a religious person but will pray for you to get a peaceful night sleep.Good luck.

I would love to try and help you. It does 'depend' (*a little) on 'what' it was that you saw? Sometimes, if the trauma, you may have experienced, was severe, enough, you may need to seek professional help. Hypnosis, can be helpful. Guided Imagery, is not actually, hypnosis, but, could also help you to relax, and 'deal' with these feelings. There is no "Quick-Fix"...Time is "A" healer, but, if you need help sooner, than when time can take this from your mind, contact someone!
I wish you luck in dealing with your situation.

find somebody that you can tell about it. This is a good job for a doctor or a priest, both of which are sworn to not tell others, unless you think a lawyer might be better to discuss it with.

Pray to GOD to help you go back to sleep, and protect you
while you sleep. Give all the really bad things to him, he can handle these bad things better than we can. He's always
listening, don't be afaid to ask.
