Hmmm... in the beginning, Metallica ruled the world!!! After Justice for All, they started to SUCK!!! I still listen to the old material, though.

Same goes for GNR.

I can't say there are bands I hate that I used to listen to before. I liked them for a reason and it was quality music. If they are going to put out crap, I just won't listen to what they are doing currently.

U2 is the first that comes to mind. There are a lot more! I don't like U2 any more (you can say I hate them) because over the last six years I have been introduced to so many new and talented bands, and my ear has become trained ("spoiled" in a sense) that it's to the point that listening to bands like U2 makes me genuinely upset and annoyed, and I almost can't stand it! I have made a complete 180 musically. (Well, I used to listen to classical and I still do, so that hasn't changed).

Ignorance was bliss in a sense when I used to listen to bands like that. Now when stuff like that comes on, I really hate it! All my ear could hear back then was the surface of those songs. Knowing what I know now, now that I have a more "trained" ear, I understand that all that music I used to listen to consisted of was what was on the surface, and these days I need music that goes way more in depth!! I need talent, I enjoy speed and power, but not always, technicality is good, vocals are important, all the parts make up a whole..

A simple way to put it would be 1. Let's start with getting some musicians who can actually play their instruments and not just look cool, 2. A singer should actually be able to sing, not just whine or whisper in a sexy manner, 3. Somebody needs to be able to write good music so these people can do what they do best! Those three things, and you have a band I will at least give a chance to.

Oh, and just a side note, lyrics don't really matter to me. It's music. If I want lyrics, I'll go read a book or poetry if I'm really up to it. Singing about "Sunday Bloody Sunday" with sh*tty music surrounding the lyrics vs. "Kill, kill, kill your mother" (something I do not relate to lyrically) but with awesome music... I'll take the awesome music any day! (I listen primarily to metal, some instrumental, some limited jazz/fusion, and classical music).

Pearl Jam

They insist on recording THE SAME RECORD every time the go into the studio.

I can't tell the difference between Versus & Vitalogy, No Code & Binaural, Yield & the avocado one...it's a shame...

New Kids On The Block. I dislike them now because I get funny looks when I beat down the road to them. But, I do still sing their songs in the shower when the soap has my peter all slippery. 2 points!

I still like Nickelback, but I think the Silver Side Up album is their best. I think that the All the Right Reasons album is too emo.

Garbage. After they did the songs I liked, they went down hill with other songs. Same is true with, Duran, Duran and Shania Twaine.
