Apparently, this clock is not counting in minutes , but in 1/100 of an hour.
There are 3600 seconds in an hour, so every 0.01 hour is 36 seconds.
So, 15.98 is 72 seconds short of 16, or one minute and 12 seconds, or 15h58m48s
23.05 is 5 times 36 seconds after 23 h, which is 180 seconds, or 3 minutes. So 23.05 is 23h03m00s.
Makes sense?

Hi. Your company, like most, uses a time schedule based on 24 hours. 10 AM will be 10:00, 1:00 PM will be 13:00 (12 +1). you will not get "15.98" because at 15:59 the next minute will be 16:00. Just subtract the number of hours:minutes when you left from the hours:minutes when you punched in and you'll have your hours:minutes that you worked. If the minutes equals more than 60, subtract the 60 and add 1 to the hour.

it's military time. 12:00 would be noon. 3 pm would be 15:00. it's all based out of (don't want to work this wrong) we'll say 100 minutes instead of 60 minutes. so if you clocked in at 3:30, your timecard would say 15:50. 3:15 would be 15:25. and so on & so on. so to figure it out i'll use your example. 15:98 would actually be....you take 98/100 (since it's based on 100 minutes) & you set that equal to x/60 (since that's what you're used to). cross mulitply. look below.
98/100 = x/60
5880=100x
58.8 = x
or to round up 59 (59 minutes)
So if your time clock said 15:98...you clocked in @ 3:59.
Your next example...23:05
first you figure that 23 actually means 11:00 because since their are 24 hours in the day & midnight is the end of the day....23 is 11 pm. then....
5/100 = x/60
300 = 100x
3 = x
you clocked out at 11:03.
let me know if you need a better explanation.

Your timecard is being calculated in military time. am is same as regular time you are used to up until 12pm. After that just add 12. 1pm becomes 13:00, 2pm becomes 14:00 and so on. This kind of timekeeping is used so that you do not have to ask if the time being told is AM or PM. 1:00 would mean 1am and 13:00 would mean 1PM>
