It really does depend on what you do for a living. Right now, I don't have a ton of free time, but it is because i'm a business owner. At some point I'll be able to have a lot more free time than a typical person so it's a conscious trade off.

Personally, when I was a student I had a lot more free time. I do think it is probably less social than a lot of places.

Social to a certain extent-work is a big part of life, time with family comes second...you won't see people spending the whole weekend with their entire family just for the heck of it. You usually see your extended family on occasions like Christmas, Easter, etc. Students are very busy too, long school days, and a lot of homework. Most people work everyday, come home, eat dinner and go to bed, yeah. If they are lucky they might have the weekend off.

America and Canada are both large countries. I think probably in the large cities you are almost right. Even in the cities this may not be the case.... I come from a small town and what you are asking isn't true at all. It's probably like every other country, some families are not in touch with each other and some are.

It's true. That's why we're here on Yahoo Answers because we seldom socialize. But we cannot blame the busyness of life but our own ego centrism.

It's social, unless you live in the suburbs. Then it's harder, because neighborhoods and homes are more isolated.
