What should be the objective of one's life ?

I think I must explain each question going by the responses I got so far...

Why are you alive ? Being alive can be condition of just survival. If you are just surviving or trying to keep up with life, WHY ?

Why do you live ? You are living means you have chosen to "live" and not just surviving. Why are you living beyond just surviving ?

What is the objective of your life ? Your objective of your life can be your life or someone else's life (like your parents or kids).
But, what is the objective of "your" life ?

What should be the objective of one's life ?
This is a general coneption of what one feels is the best thing to do with life. It can be religious, it can be spirtual, it can be anything, but common to all, in "your opnion".

iam living coz life has a purpose and i dont wanna lose the one shot i get to xperience the greatness of this world..I AM CHOOSING to live coz i never know wat happens today that wld shape my life in a better way...i can choose to give up on life BUT my life is in my control(note: my death is not in my control), as long as i live whether its just for mere survival or whether its coz i feel sumthing gr8 is gonna turn out from my life or coz i wanna see the beauty of this world--no matter wat the reason is---as long as i live, i wld live with a satisfactory feeling knowing that this ONE SHOT i get is not being wasted by me giving up on life or choosing not to live in this world anymore......very few ppl survive from last minute accidents and theyre very lucky to get a second shot but i might not be one of them, sooooo LIVE LIFE TO THE MOMENT and choose wat u want to do with ur life coz u control ur life......
the objective of one's life is just to xperience this REALITY on earth and learn sumthing from it and teach sumthing new and influence sum1 in sum way.....(and trust me, thats wat happens wid every1's life...u dont realize it BUT every person u meet changes ur life in some way..)
life is not abt giving up, its abt facing reality...its abt UNDERSTANDING that u can do sumthing with wat u have and show people that u indeed CAN do it....:)

I'm alive because God decided I should be, and created me. I have multiple objectives in my life, including getting my master's or MD, traveling around the world, joining the Peace Corps, and lots of other stuff. I think the objective of a person's life should be to live it the best way they know how, doing good for others and genuinely having a positive impact on the world.

I have no idea why I, myself, am alive.
Perhaps the nature of life is the process of answering a particular question while formulating another for future generations to answer. Learning the truest objective of one's life is certainly an enviable achievement, though most folks can't be bothered with the struggle and research necessary to clear away every last one of the answers that are unsuited for the specific questioner.
For my part, it's possible that I'm heading full-tilt-boogie toward becoming a cautionary tale for someone else's kid.

I am alive just for one purpose....to be able to see her marriage and then perhaps die of silently with a broken heart. All this running around in life seems pointless if that which matters most has not taken place.

I think the objective of life should be to become Selfless. Then all these wars, killings, jealousies, hatred and strife will never be.

I still live because I don't have the courage to kill myself (I couldn't find a method that is available,fast and without grotesque outcome;my biggest wish would be to simply disappear and not be remembered by anyone).You can easily deduce from here that I have no objective in life (in fact that is the main reason why I wish I was never born).And consequently,I really have no clue what the purpose of humanity and living is.We should stop reproducing our species,because all we can create is suffering.

There are some theories that say that through this life on the Earth, we should have to experience material side of the world and Universe.After our material death,our souls continue living in some other dimensions.
But there is our personal experience,made of our wishes and hopes and history...As for that, I can say I live to learn something new and give and receive love and be happy.
And I believe I was born because that was God's will.So no parents can mistreat their children;they aren't only their "property",but also the children of God.

We are all alive by God's blessing. He wanted us to be able to experience love just as He was able to. This is the reason the objective of one's life is to love. This is why Jesus' commandments are Love your God and Love your neighbor. This could be done by being able to touch others lives through the service you give to others, even your enemies.
