You can't base your opinion of every liberal on a few select things. Different people have different ways.

Typically Liberals want higher taxes for the rich, lower for the poor. This is because the rich have more to give, the poor don't. In addition, those taxes go to programs that help the poor to get to middle class/stand up.

Liberals typically against war but not all the time.. depends on the person. Stereotypically they're for gay marriage and for a woman's right to choose on abortion.

Much more of a universal freedom deal. Not good or bad... just different. Not saying conservatives believe against freedom, just freedom within certain boundaries. Think of them like the friend who drinks at the bar but never too much, he knows his limit. I guess that makes conservatives look good? Hm.. Well in truth both sides suck and are immature.

Its roots go back at least to the Greek philosophers, such as Socrates. Its ideas got into political discourse, however, not until the end of the Medieval period with the emergence of the Protestant revolution. Martin Luther preached that each individual had a right to worship in his own way. Ere long his daring thought crept into secular affairs. Among our revolutionary forefathers, Tom Paine, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison were classical liberals.
Paine, pamphleteer of the revolution, thought the power of government was at best a "necessary evil." Jefferson uttered the radical idea that the "best government was that which governed least." They argued that George III and his ministers had no right to govern us from afar. On economic affairs liberals favored an open, free marketplace in which consumers by their choice directed the course of the economy, not government officials. These ideas came from such radicals as Jeremy Bentham and John Stuart Mill. In political affairs liberalism meant an equal vote for every citizen, with government officials as our servants, not our masters. Here, though, I will dare two predictions. One is that the government's multitrillion-dollar debt will never be paid off, not ever. Instead, merely to pay the interest on it will be a burden we bequeath to our children and our children's children. The other is that it will be a long time before even the current budget deficit is balanced.

A liberal is a person who does not take the time to look into any topic they are debating and therefore answer in a foolish and uneducated way! Actually I guess this is more a symptom of liberalism!
Liberals are socialist and believe the govt should control their every move or basically babysit them for the rest of their lives..

I guess to be fair and make it easy for all the liberals who are reading this:
Uneducated, media crazed fools!

Liberals believe that we are all in this together and believe that the government is us, "We the People" and not some boogie man out to get you. Liberals believe in a government social safety net for those times when our fellow American has made mistakes or risks or has less ability to pursue their happiness or just can`t care for themselves alone and to be given a fresh start and not so quick to blame the victim.

A liberal never met a tax they didn't like.

A liberal is someone who will create a 10,000 person bureaucracy to study the best way to change a light bulb...while sitting in the dark.

A liberal is someone who thinks that they can live your life better than you can.

Liberals believe that the government should be taking care of its citizens, basically, and that rights should never be taken from a person. They believe that big business is corrupt and needs to be paying more taxes and that the poor people should have more and the rich should have less.
