I asked people to boycott specific gas companies which would result in lower gas prices, but no one wants to do it...why not? We should all not buy anything from Super Americas anymore.

Whether or not you buy gas on a certain day will have zero net effect on an oil comapany's revenue, simply because no one person buys his or her gasoline every day.

Let's assume everyone spends $30 a week on gas. Observe:

Scenario 1: You don't protest and buy your gas within a week prior or after the 15th. Oil company revenue: $30.

Scenario 2: You DO protest and buy your gas within a one week period before or after. Oil company revenue: $30.

Holy crap, what just happened? I pay the SAME whether I protest or not? It looks like logic just peed in my Cheerios.

Q.E.D.

See, the point is that you're going to buy the gas anyway because your vehicle tends to run on it. When fuel consumption does not change, neither will fuel expenditures. The only way a boycott will work is not if people don't buy gas, but only if they don't BURN gas. That means no car, no motorcyle, no bus.

But dang, going places is a Good Thing, because Car gets you to work and Car takes you to friends, and Car takes you to stores and other magical places that you'd otherwise never walk to. If you're buying gas, then you're not paying too much. If you truly felt it was "too much", then you wouldn't be buying it at all. If you really want to protest, stop buying gas completely until the prices fall to a point that's acceptable for you to start again.

Why should these companies lower their prices? Because it isn't "fair" to pay those prices for gas? Capitalism operates on setting retail prices not by what you feel you deserve but what you are willing to pay. Should these companies just have zero profits just so everyone can be marginally satisfied? If so, what's the point of being in business if you're not allowed to generate profit? Gasoline isn't a right, it's a commodity. Nowhere in the Constitution are you guaranteed the god-given right of never-ending cheap gas.

I'm not saying a silly boycott wouldn't work in theory, but the way most people are going about it it's not going to...

Yes. America is full of *******. Big fat white ******* filling their suv's with gas to go to a fast food restaurant to fill their big fat pussy faces full of food.
You can't get a boycott with all these people who'd rather just ***** and moan about things than to actually go ahead and do them. Boycott. Spread the word. But I am sorry my friend, this land is not our land. It's theirs. THEY own it and they don't care about anything but themselves. It is the way of the world. Make your mark any way you can.

because boycotting wont do anything, the companies you boycott will only sell to the companies you use, so boycotting wont do a dang thing. the only way to bring prices down is to limit usage.
