How does Lyle Lovette get his hair to stand up like that?

Lyle Lovett has naturally curly, thick hair. So all he really needs to do is let it do it's thang and use some gel.

I think he was born like that because why would somebody do that to their hair on purpose.

Personally, I use goat's blood, but I think he just uses hair spray.
