As most of the people have stated these were the first 13 independent (states) British colonies who decided they would rather toss down a cold Bud than that nasty tea. So they went to Boston and threw all the tea into the bay making the largest sun tea brew at the time. Apparently they were republicans because they decided their taxes were to high and asked King George for for a tax cut. The king being a liberal European decided the government knew what was best for the people and took away their money and goods. The republicans being good NRA members got their guns and had some fun
