From what I understand "swag" is like swagger, it is an arrogant air or, concieted expression. Usually used to describe some one a little snooty, and overly self confidant. Usually not a compliment.

In the olden days, bushmen and the like carried all their things around in a swag. This term has now become an expression for a windfall.

Swagger is what rich people do, because they're jerks. Swag is an abbrieviation of this, by people who are tryhards.
