I don't believe Gaara is any recognizable nationality. Naruto is set in a fictional world, and Gaara is from "The Land of the Sand," so he would probably be that country's nationality, but I don't know what the equivalent would be on Earth.

Gaara's hair is brown... It's a rsty reddish brown color. in the Shonen jump and in Kishimoto's character description of him it is said that he has an odd shade of brown hair.

Now because people haven't read the character description of him, they mistaken his rusty, reddish BROWN hair for red.

Gaara's hair is a reddish brown, a brown that has a reddish tint to it.

If you mix red and brown together, that is Gaara's hair color. it's an odd color. I typed in "reddish brown paint" and this is what I got. i got different shades of the color, but is closer to Gaara's brown hair shade.

Well maybe since in the naruto world, if you will there is no japan unlike most animes that are in japan naruto has it's own unique landscape. Gaara is most likly pale because most eviler silent characters are like sasuke shino gaara and ect. The green eyes are most likley genetic like temari has green eyes and so does gaaras mother and yashamaru. The red hair still has me puzzled since Kazekage [ Gaara's father] has brown hair and gaara's mom either has dark blonde or light brown hair but maybe the red hair has something to do with Shukaku? I mean before he was an evil tanuki demon he was a human preist.
As for everyone else If everyone had the hints of japanese decent the characters may not be as interesting.

Since its summer I would go for the nataural look. I've just got some new make up and like you I am a red head and I believe our hair makes a loud enough statement alone so go for subtle tones. Forget foundation as it always looks too much for every day. But if you must wear it. I do on a date or evening/night out the best foundation I have come across are Boots No7 Intelligent Colour Foundation Boots 17 Perfect Match True To Skin Foundation These are both nataural looking and balance out any imperfections rather than look like you have plastered them on. Like I said I have opted out of foundation during the day and I use a peachy blusher on my face rather than foundation and when I wear foundation I use my blisher in a pinker tone. I find a peach blusher gives my pale skin a kind of an effortless glow. My eyeshadow of the moment is Revlon ColorStay Eyeshadow Quads These are in real nice natural colours and feel nice on the eyes. they cost £7.99. Like I said I am using the nude/beige colours in the day and the Pink/Peachy/Lilac tones in the evening. My day time lipstick is a barely there Revlon ColorStay Soft & Smooth Lipstick Number 200 and my evening is a Max factor Max Factor Lipfinity I have about 4 different ones and I like a deep striking colour. My mascara is Max Factor Masterpiece Mascara or Max Factor Masterpiece MAX Mascara as this really does make the lashes look long thick and clump free. The regular masterpiece in the day i wear in Brown and the Max is my night out one and I use it in Black So those are my recomendations and Like you I have eyes that alter mine are on the bright blue at the monent. So I would say pay Boots a Visit. There is a free Nail Polish offer on with Revlon. 3 for 2 on No 7 and a gift set when you spend over £15 on Max Factor. Hope this helps. Go knock em dead girl.

Not only Naruto, all the anime from the old days till now give amusing color too. I have two thoughts, first I think because they want to look similar white people who has colourful hair and eyes. They've done it through their anime, and now after the hair colouring improved and colour contact lenses invented, they've done it to their hair and eyes also.
Secondly, maybe it's thir culture to dye hair and coulurful eyes. I see old pictures of gods and demons in japan and they draw it in colourful way. And anime only incarnation of the culture.
That's my opinion, hope not offend some people.

Japs like to dye their hair and use eye lense. Don't you ever see Japanese boys that looked exactly like Japanese girls? Even the band boys looked a lot like girls

they do that to have differances, i mean some anime characters blue hair, no one has natural blue hair, think about it this way, if everyone had black hair & eyes the anime would look really bad
