I am from the UK, and everything on my keyboard works fine except for a few keys. The most annoying is the pound sign displays # instead. And pressing shift then 2 gives me @. For the @ button, it gives me " for some reason. That's about it. Is it the Country the keyboard's assigned to? The computer monitor had some trouble changing to different modes (I have an LCD TFT that has digital and analogue modes), but the other users' keys are fine, it's just my user name. Can someone please help????

Check for a virus. This happened to me recently after the kids downloaded wrestling and football videos.
I have avg which is available for free on the Internet this anti virus software should deal with it.
An easier way to check that the keyboards is at fault is to plug your keyboard into another computer, this will not affect the other computer but will give you an answer as to weather its at fault.

Are you using an American keyboard or UK version?

On American keyboards, the @ sign is above the two. And Americans refer to # as the pound sign...

It sounds like it's working correctly.

Keyboard do wear out. But, you can remove each key, clean the area and put it back. And, turn the entire keyboard over and tap it gently to remove "whatever" between the keys.

Also there is a professional keyboard cleaner, that is most made of alcohol.

Your keyboard language may not be correct. You have to select keyboard in the control panel. You have to set your keyboard to BRITISH ENGLISH.

you have to set your region and language, without both setting being correct you will get the defailt (which is what you have) recheck these and you will probably find you have a selection of USA English set somewhere in control panel
