I had to be tested during one pregnancy because my ex cheated on me and engaged in some really high risk behaviours with his other partners. It is one of the most scarey things in the world, but most tests come back negative. If it is positive, there is an almost zero risk of passing it on to the baby with the new drugs available. I hope it all works out for you. Remember, most tests are negative. Chances are pretty good that you will be fine.

Both my aunt and uncle found out they were HIV positive when she got pregnant. They are an older couple, but it was lucky that they did have the test then or they may never have checked. Their baby girl came out perfectly healthy with no traces of HIV infection (she is 8 yrs old now). Now they are both on medications and believe that they have caught the disease early enough to extend thier lives considerably. Even if the "worst" happens, maybe it can turn out to be a blessing in disguise.

In north america pregnant woman with hiv infection are given antiviral drugs, chances of transfering the virus to the fetus has dropped to less than 10%.
I've had 4 babies never worried about hiv but everything you do haunts you until the baby is born, then again everytime the babe coughs, burps or cries. You can't change the past you can change the future.

Father in heaven, please deliver to this woman a healthy child and the wisdom to raise it. amen

No, I wasn't scared. I knew I was faithful to my husband, and I knew he was faithful to me. Why are you scared? If it's because you've been sleeping around, I hope your baby isn't born with HIV.

You fear is natural-- but take a deep breath and go for it.
If you are HIV positive, there are meds you can take to prevent it from spreading to the baby and keep yourself healthy longer.

Hang in there---
