I am having a debate with a friend. Is it odd to have that kind of a pet? Is it a turn off to women?

A well taken care of turtle would be a great conversation starter and the ability to nurture is always a turn on. If your turtle is very happy, many women would look upon that as a sign that you are able to commit, able to give love, and willing to take care of another being. All of these are very attractive qualities.

I am a single female and I have always loved turles and tortoises. I had one myself before I moved accross the country. It disappeared a week before the move.
I think a single guy with a turtle for a pet is a sweet thought. :) As long as you keep the tank cleaned out very regularly. A yucky tank would be a turn off no matter who you were.

The kind of pet you have is not significant to the kind of person you are. Pets are companions of a sort, and just like a dog or cat or iguana for that matter, whatever they are, if they give us comfort in some way, all are acceptable. Don't let anyone mock you for the kind of pet you prefer.

Why not?? I know a good looking young bachelor that has a hamster as a pet, and get this: he actually had surgery done on it's eye...he sure loves his hamster. I doesn't matter what kind of pet you have, it shows you are a caring, compassionate person!

Maybe depends upon the woman. I grew up on a creek flushing frogs from their holes so we could race them... Turtles are cool and quiet and will hang out with you if you stay in one place. They like to watch you and will play with sticks and stuff too! But not all girls grew up like I did... Go figure.

If you like it, go for it. I wouldn't mind a turtle nearly as much as a snake or lizard.
