Respect of your lifestyle, morals, and beliefs. Trust in your partner to always be open to being honest to each others ideas, feelings and needs. And lastly a two way, non-judgmental communication. Without flowing dialog of questions, concerns, comments and areas of improvement to help benefit the relationship, over time the relationship becomes stale, closed off and does not mature/change. This can lead to a dying/ending partnership.

a man wants respect, passion and sex (serious on the passion deal!)
a woman wants respect, passion and love (which is often equated with love in the man's eyes).
As for me, I am a woman and I like respect, love and lots of sex. The passion is nice, but a nice quiet evening at home would be nice every once and a while.
